The Yeezy 700 is one of the models that fueled the trend for chunky “dad” sneakers toward the end of the second decade of the twenty-first century. Below we describe how the successive versions differ – from the first Boost 700, through the V2 and V3, to the lighter MNVN.

The History of the Yeezy 700 and the Differences Between Successive Releases

The Yeezy Boost 700 has an upper made of suede overlays and top-quality leather with mesh linings, a reflective heel and three-stripe details. A full-length elevated midsole provides comfort and stability. It debuted on August 12, 2017 in the Wave Runner colorway.

The Yeezy Boost 700 V2 has an upper made of circular knit and top-quality leather with nubuck overlays and reflective details. A full-length elevated midsole provides comfort and stability. It debuted in late 2018 – one of the first colorways was Static.

The Yeezy 700 V3 has an upper made of engineered monofilament mesh with RPU overlays that provide the right structure and durability. The RPU cage has glow-in-the-dark elements that give the shoe a unique look and style.

The construction of the shoe allows for a perfect fit, and the tongue has a reflective finish that glows in the dark. The EVA foam midsole with a PU coating is designed to provide comfort and durability. It debuted on December 23, 2019 in the Azael colorway.

The Yeezy Boost 700 MNVN has an upper made of lightweight polyester without overlays, which provides better breathability, flexibility and comfort. No-tie bungee laces make the shoes easy to put on and take off.

The reflective material emits light in the dark in specific areas of the model. A full-length inset Boost midsole provides excellent cushioning underfoot, and the PU midsole provides comfort and durability. The shoes debuted on February 8, 2020 in the Triple Black colorway.

Boost or EVA – How Does the Cushioning Differ?

The classic Boost 700, V2 and MNVN have a full-length Boost insert in the sole that gives a soft, springy feel when walking. The V3 uses EVA foam in a PU coating, which gives a firmer feel underfoot and a futuristic, sculptural sole shape.

How Do You Choose the Right Yeezy 700 Size?

The Boost 700 and 700 V2 are usually worn in your standard size. With the V3, whose RPU cage wraps the foot more tightly, some people go up half a size – especially with a wider foot. If you're not sure, try a pair on in our store in Wrocław or message us via the contact page.

Frequently asked questions

What Is the Difference Between the Yeezy Boost 700 and the 700 V2?

Both versions have a sole with a Boost insert, but the V2 has a knit upper with nubuck overlays and reflective details, while the first generation combines suede, leather and mesh. This makes the V2 look slightly smoother and more uniform.

Do the Yeezy 700 V3 Glow in the Dark?

Yes, the RPU cage on the V3 has glow-in-the-dark elements. The effect is most visible after the shoes have been sitting in the light beforehand.

Does adidas Still Release New Yeezy?

In 2022, adidas ended its partnership with Kanye West, so new Yeezy projects in this format are no longer being made. All the more reason to buy pairs that have been checked for authenticity.

How Do You Clean Suede Yeezy 700?

Suede and nubuck are best cleaned dry with a soft brush, and stains should be removed with a product designed for suede. You'll find suitable products in the shoe care category.
