The Air Jordan 2 is the model that dared to break with the formula of the first Jordan and bet on luxury materials and Italian pedigree. Below you'll find its history, the collaborations available at SneakersJoint and sizing tips.
History of the Air Jordan 2
The Air Jordan 2 was originally released in 1987 and was designed by Bruce Kilgore. It was made in Italy and had an upper made of genuine Italian leather. The Air Jordan Wings logo is clearly visible on the tongue. It is the second model in this collection.
It was an important step for promoting the Air Jordan brand, despite Michael being injured in the third game of his second season. MJ suffered a fractured left foot at that time. This did not stop production of the new Air Jordan 2, however.
A Luxury Design That Was Ahead of Its Time
After the success of the first model, Nike took a completely different direction. The “Two” had no Swoosh on the upper; instead it got inserts with a texture imitating lizard skin, a clean, elegant shape and Air cushioning in the sole. Production in Italy meant that the model was seen at the time more as luxury footwear than as a typical basketball shoe.
The bold, minimalist form divided fans at the time – some admired the elegance of the model, others missed the sportier character of the “One.” Over the years, though, it's clear that the “Two” was the first to show that shoes bearing the Jordan name can be more than footwear for the court.
For years the Air Jordan 2 remained in the shadow of the “One,” the “Three” and the “Four.” The situation changed thanks to collaborations that showed how well this silhouette works as a base for original projects – today it's one of the more interesting choices for people who want to stand out among Jordan fans.

How to choose your Air Jordan 2 size?
Before buying, measure your foot length in centimeters – preferably in the evening, when your foot is slightly swollen – and compare the result with the Nike size chart. If you have other Jordan sneakers in your closet, use them as a reference point, and if in doubt, message us.
The Off-White Low versions show off the ankle and look great with shorter or cuffed pants. The Union and A Ma Maniére models pair best with straight jeans, cargo pants or sweats, where the pant leg falls loosely over the upper.

Frequently asked questions
Who designed the Air Jordan 2?
The model was designed by Bruce Kilgore – the same designer who earlier created the Nike Air Force 1.
Why is there no Swoosh on the Air Jordan 2?
The design was meant to emphasize the luxurious, Italian character of the model and to establish Air Jordan as a separate line. Instead of the Swoosh, the Wings logo on the tongue takes the leading role.
Is the Air Jordan 2 suitable for everyday wear?
Yes. Contemporary retro versions are, above all, lifestyle sneakers that work well in urban outfits.
Can I return the shoes?
Yes, you have 14 days to return them. You'll find the terms on the returns page.
