Nike Off-White features sneakers from one of the most important collaborations of recent years, in which Nike put its classics in the hands of a designer from Chicago. Below we recap who Virgil Abloh was, where the “The Ten” collection came from and how to recognize Off-White designs.

What Is the Off-White Brand?

Before Off-White was founded in 2012, Virgil Abloh ran the PYREX VISION brand and was creative director for Kanye West. Since then, his revolution has gained incredible momentum. From the start, he used Instagram as a platform for sharing his ideas and work with the streetwear community.

His aesthetic and design, which include full lines of clothing for men and women as well as accessories, appeal mainly to millennials.

The Off-White and Nike Collaboration

The Off-White brand has many collaborations with Nike to its name. The most famous, titled “The Ten”, is a rebuild of 10 top Nike models through the vision of Virgil Abloh. The collection includes the Jordan 1, Blazer, Air Max 90, Air Force 1, Chuck Taylor, Zoom Fly, Air Max 97, Vapormax, Presto and React Hyperdunk.

Naturally, this was only the beginning. Over the following years, more colorways of models such as the Air Force 1 MOMA and Volt appeared. Additionally, the Air Jordan 4 x Off-White in the Sail colorway is one of the most sought-after shoes of all time.

Virgil Abloh, a Man of Many Talents

Since we're on the subject of Off-White, now it's time for a few achievements from the life of the late Virgil Abloh.

In 2009, after leaving an architecture firm, he opened RSVP Gallery – a store where you could buy clothes and modern art from around the world. He joined Kanye West and his creative agency Donda and was responsible for the visuals of the artist's concerts and his merch.

He designed the album covers for Watch The Throne, Long. Live. A$AP and Luv is Rage 2. He produced music and played DJ sets all over the world.

The iconic Nike x Off-White collaboration is a true must-have. You'll find the available models in this category, and the brand's entire range in the Off-White section.

Nike x Off-White Models at SneakersJoint

In this category you'll find both pairs from the first “The Ten” collection and later releases that further developed the design language of Abloh. Our range includes, among others:

  • The Ten – Air Max 90, Air Max 97, Air Presto, Air VaporMax, Blazer Mid, Air Force 1 Low, Zoom Fly and React Hyperdunk,
  • Air Jordan – Air Jordan 1 High Chicago, University Blue and Euro, Air Jordan 2 Low, Air Jordan 4 Sail and Air Jordan 5 Muslin and Sail,
  • Air Force 1 – Low MCA University Blue, Volt, Lemonade and Brooklyn, plus Mid versions such as Sheed or Graffiti,
  • Blazer – Halloween-themed Grim Reapers and All Hallows Eve, the low-top Blazer Low and the Queen model from the collection created for Serena Williams,
  • Dunk Low – University Red, Pine Green, University Gold and the numbered series “The 50”.

Dunk Low “The 50”

“The 50” is a series of 50 numbered versions of the Dunk Low, marked with the word “Lot” and a number from 1 to 50. Every pair has its own color combination, and the common denominator is extra laces and deconstructive details. We've gathered all the numbers in a separate category, Nike x Off-White LOT.

How to Recognize an Off-White Design?

Virgil Abloh liked to show what is usually hidden, which is why his sneakers look a bit like prototypes. The most distinctive details are:

  • text in quotation marks, e.g. “SHOELACES” on the laces or “AIR” on the sole,
  • a plastic strap (zip tie) attached to the shoe, most often red,
  • exposed foam and prints resembling technical annotations on the side panel,
  • visible stitching and upper elements sewn on as if the shoe were still in production.

Authentic Nike Off-White at SneakersJoint

Off-White collaborations are among the most commonly counterfeited sneakers, which is why every pair goes through authenticity verification with us: UV light inspection, EAN code checks and comparison with a reference pair. Sizing usually matches the base Nike or Jordan model, so you can go by the size you wear in, for example, the Air Jordan 1 or Dunk Low. You can also find the models from the Jordan line in the Nike Air Jordan x Off-White category.
