History of the Air Jordan 3
First released in 1988, the Air Jordan 3 was the first Air Jordan model designed by Tinker Hatfield. They were also the debut of the now iconic Jumpman, which would go on to replace the original Air Jordan Wings logo.
The AJ 3 was also the first model to feature a visible Air cushion in the heel and printed details imitating an elephant bone. Spike Lee’s Mars Blackmon character made his debut in the shoes’ commercial. It is mainly thanks to him that this model became very popular in the United States.
Not only did their unprecedented bold and stylish design attract attention in 1988, but the important thing was that the Air Jordan III has stood the test of time as one of the most popular sneakers to this day. They are unquestionably one of the best shoes ever.
