Adidas Gazelle
Adidas Gazelle shoes, reportedly named after Adidas-sponsored American sprinter Wilma Rudolph, who earned the nickname “Black Gazelle” at the 1960 Olympic Games, were not originally known for their variety of colors.
Initially, Gazelles were training shoes and were only available in red or blue. Legend has it that the red edition was designed for handball, while the blue edition was designed for heavier training sessions. What made them unique was the use of suede in the shoes, a first for Adidas.
